Well, phase two of my plan for world domination and fabulous wealth is complete. I'm not sure I've quite reached the '????' part of my plan, but we're certainly closer. And once we hit '????', we're only a step away from 'Profit!', right?
All of which is my convoluted way of saying 'Check out my website!' - go to www.schlechtstudios.com! I don't expect any of you to buy anything, but I would like to know if you see anything that's awful or needs improvement, and I'd especially like to know if anything's broken. I don't THINK that's even possible, but, y'know, that doesn't mean it isn't. :)

I was having a decent night, having fixed my internet so I could use Hulu again, and I caught up on 30 Rock and Community, and thought I'd call Lu cuz' she hadn't IMed in a while, and I got a new phone and wanted to give her the number (for the trivial and unimportant record, 804/980-6485).
Her mom picked up. After some confusion, we established who we were, and she informed me that Lu (Lucreza, or Samantha for people who aren't silly like me; I think at least half of my friends list is friends with her and/or has met her... from Florida, currently living in Wisconsin, I was going to visit her in a week or two) has been in the hospital since she went to the ER on Monday and they have induced a coma in her to help with keeping her breathing and she's sick as fuck. Her mom said they think she has swine flu and she's all fucked up. Obviously, because she's in a coma.
So, err... just thought I should say something, because her mom can't access her LJ, as far as I know, so if most of your contact with her comes through LJ, you wouldn't know. Or if you're like me, you just assumed she wasn't IMing because she was busy with school and boyfriend-drama. That's not the case, she's all fucked up in the hospital, and send her good vibes or whatever.
For the record, her mom said she had been told by the hospital that it was good to talk to her even tho she's not conscious. I dunno if I really believe in the efficacy of that sorta thing, but she said she's been logging in as Lu on AIM or something (she said 'on the internet' and I don't know if that means her Yahoo, or her AIM, or both cuz' her Trillian's got the passwords saved for all of them) and she would be reading chats to Lu if people IM while she's out. I got the impression she wanted to ask me to send an email to read to her but then realized she didn't have any way to access Lu's e-mail. So if you see her online and want to say hi? Do so, for her mom's sake, or whatever.
Kinda weirded out right now. Was a normal Saturday night and I just found out that one of my friends may be dying. Hopefully not. Throw prayers, shots, and good vibes out, I guess?

... but I never got around to posting that the Red Elvises are playing at Capital Ale House tonight. They did the soundtrack to post-apocalyptic rockabilly-epic Six String Samurai, amongst other things. I have no idea if they're any good; I can't remember anything about Six String Samurai except that it was awesome and I liked the music, so that bodes well. So me n' Tommy n' my brother are going. If the music sucks, at least there's good beer. 8:00 PM, tonight, at the downtown Capital Ale House. |

I dunno if that worked. I just randomly stumbled on it glancing at other people's LJ pages following a post trail through RVA. The little girl just made me think of Heidi and laugh uproariously. It's awesome.

I think some of the people on my LJ friends list are not on my MySpace friends list, so I'll mention here that I finally made a myspace for the band. http://www.myspace.com/machinechopinc - we put up four of the tracks that are pretty well mixed, and one or two are stuff that we've never released. They're all new recordings, and they all sound decent. I think. If you have a MySpace, friend us, if you don't, just listen to our shit and lemme know how it is. :) |

So I was looking at Writing/Editing jobs as I am wont to do.... and this made me laugh out loud. It also made me think bad thoughts about democracy, for a minute, but mostly... it made me laugh.
"I am need someone that is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE in writing. This person MUST know how to write very well, i am running for a public office and need help writing my political ad, that will descibe me. If it goes good, I may have the party write more. ( I have already wrote some stuff but it needs to be corrected and revised) it is like three paragraphs long. Send me your experiences."
